I am going to the in-laws tonight and I am bringing a cooler filled with every type of fancy water I could find at the store. I have a bag of lemons and limes ready too. I am excited to wake up tomorrow without a headache and energy to enjoy the day. Just want to say thanks to everyone on this site for all the encouragement and support. I am on day 6 after drinking one beer last Saturday after 20 days sober. I have more energy and more motivation than ever. I like feeling this way.

Sparkling water is delicious. Looking back on my drinking, I didn't really like the taste of alcohol that much -- I just wanted to get drunk. It's fun to now to taste (and be able to afford) juice and other stuff.

I love bringing sparkling mineral water and sparkling Welches grape juice or sparkling pear juice. They make me feel more a part of the party but safe in my sobriety.

WOOHOO!!! Made it through the giant family Christmas without drinking. In my adult life, this was the first Chritmas get-together in which I wasn't too drunk/hungover from drinking vodka since 8am. I had to leave at 11pm when everyone settled in for Jaeger shots. But I left in a great mood and just happy about how things went.
