Hi Jocata and welcome! Like you I was sober in the early 2000s and then let things slip gradually over time. It's good to be back. I'm about 60 days sober (with a few slips) now and finally remembering how great it felt to be me about 10 years ago.
I agree it seems harder this time around, but you'll find a lot of great support here on SR. So welcome!
Question: What's your plan to get and stay sober this time?

Thanks Desserto. Pray, go to meetings, work the steps with my sponser, honestly and openly talk to my sponser on a regular basis, pray some more, share on this site, read the Big Book and my Bible, get involved, fellowship, and reach out to others in need of help, and finally pray some more. This worked for me the first time I had 3 years of great sobriety, I just stopped doing all of those things. Only a matter of time and off to the races.

Hey Jocata i am also new to this site and spent last night pondering how stupid my last binge was. Which was 3days ago. I agree totally with you regarding church and having that spiritual connection. The thing I want to tell all newcomers is please don't punish yourself and know that everything is going tone alright. You are human. I Have been punishing myself for the past 11 months after relapsing. Don't it makes sit worst.

Hey everyone made it back home without taking a drink. Was actually at a bar and everyone kept asking me what I wanted to drink and i told them a bottle water would be fine. My 5 year old was so pleased he just hugged me and said "thanks for not drinking papa". Another reason why it's important for me to stop.
Thanks for the welcome, it means a lot to me.
