2 weeks today!
2 weeks today!
Two weeks sober today. Last night I had my first drinking dreams. Planning to sign up for outpatient program today after work. I answered a questionar last night about whether I was an alcoholic. It said if you scored over 5 your an alcoholic, I scored 34......huh
I always thought looking for an "Am I an Alcoholic" questionnaire equals 5 points! Congrats on 2 weeks. You must have some momentum!
You doing anything in particular that helps keep you sober? I'm always open to tips!

I remember those "are you an alcoholic?" quizzes. I got a few of what I called "false negatives" on those tests, such as:
Q: Have you ever gotten in trouble with your boss because of your drinking?
A: No, I'm self employed
Q: Have you ever gotten in trouble with your spouse because of your drinking?
A: No, I'm single

Congrats on 2 weeks!
I have always scored , once I got honest and out of denial, that I definitely had a problem with alcohol. I also know some hard drinkers who score similar but they just put down and can moderate which I can't. I am not sure a test can confirm one is an alcoholic but it can sure help remove the denial to let yourself answer that question a lot more honestly.

Congrats on 2 weeks! I, too, scored a really high number on those quizzes. I remember actually being surprised! Printed my results out to keep in case my brain ever starts to try to tell me I'm not an alcoholic again.
PaleMale, I've been reading and posting here, going to AA meetings, reading my Big Book, and making gratitude list. Also made list of things to do, to stay busy if needed. And I say NO to myself when the thought of drinking pops in my head.
Congrats HK! Two weeks is huge. It looks like you are willing to do whatever it takes to quit for good. Keep posting as it really makes our day when we can read about winning the battle too!
