Trying again....I want this to be the last time.
Hello SRers. Ive been a member for years, mostly lurking. Ive had stints of sobriety, the longest being about 4 years. I'm currently 6 days sober after a relapse on drugs and alcohol.
Just dropping in to say hello to everyone, to share and receive support and wisdom from people who know my/our story, and have been there and back. I'm currently living in a wonderful halfway house, attending meetings daily, and have acquired a sponsor for the first time. Also for the first time I'm really feeling hope, and looking forward to a sober, productive, content life.
I will be checking SR daily for experience, strength, and hope. I hope to get and give back.

thanks everyone. today is one week sober. i'm really liking the halfway house, it's a supportive environment but gives me the freedom to make my own choices, get out in the world, look for a job etc. no luck on the job front just yet, but it will come. for now though, my "plan" is as follows. don't use, and do the next right thing.
i think that's all the plan i need at this moment. bigger and better things can wait.
