newcomer 21 days sober
Hi, Im new to writing and posting. Im 21 days in recovery and Im in AA for those 3 weeks also. Im doing ok. I had not got to the stage where I was drinking everyday so this led me to believe that I would be ok, that I wasnt an alchoholic...BUT I AM., I know that now. For years I knew there was something ''not right'', but I was sooo scared and I had no one to talk to. I was afraid to admit it as drinking is a big thing here In Ireland (where Im from). At the minute , I am exhausted with all the AA meetings, support group, counselling and sharing and listening in general. I am travelling a fair distance to all of the meetings etc and it is exhausting. I have gotten myself a sponsor and a few telephone no''s. I know Im on the right road now but today I found myself in tears and in bits . Thankyou . C.

Welcome! This is a great place to be. Sounds like you are working really hard at your sobriety and I commend you on that. You are going to have some great days and some hard days. I'm sorry today is one of those hard days! Keep reading and posting here the people on this forum are so understanding and helpful!

Glad you found us....... This is a great place to come when you need a little encouragement or just to connect to/encourage others. It sounds like you're doing some great work towards recovery and that's awesome.

21 days is a great accomplishment!! Be proud of yourself for that!
There's no reason why you can't supplement your meetings with browsing this forum. I know that my first day, I spent about 2 hours just reading posts and marveling at how many people are just like me! I'd felt uncomfortable in AA meetings, and I couldn't really find a support system for people around my age and in a similar stage of life. I have found all that I am looking for and more here!
Please come back, and as often as you need to! This is an 100% support zone. Everyone here wishes for you to succeed
