4 days alcohol free
The last time I drank 4 days ago I was contemplating about taking my life. I wrote on this board and want to thank everyone who responded. I didn't think people cared as much as you did.
Now that I haven't had a sip of alcohol I can see how drinking escalates my depression. I feel I have some hope now to focus my energy into becoming sober. I know it will take alot of work but from the posts i read on this board makes me feel and think that it's worth it.

i was where you were too.
i remember the first four days seeming like four years.
BUT TODAY
I AM ON DAY 45
whoop whoop
and it does get better.
I finally feel like i am getting myself back. I didnt know what happened to ME.
I really didnt like myself, but i can tell you that all that dissolves by the day.
Keep strong and keep going
Day five is only one sleep away

Hi Theresa - that is wonderful news. You sound much better, & you have hope.
We can put ourselves in such a dark hole we can't imagine ever digging out. I never thought I could make a move without alcohol, but it was slowly sucking the life out of me. There was no more happiness, excitement or joy in my life. It's confusing, because we start out using it to feel better - yet in the end we just feel numb.
I'm so glad you are sticking with it and looking forward to a brighter day. You can do this.
