Good News!

I've lost 10lbs just by switching from beer to ice cream!!!

I've totally noticed that ice cream is somewhat of a theme here. Who woulda thunk?

I think ice-cream is essential!

Good for you. For me I'm in the midst of a serious long term nutrition rich diet trying to shed 60 lbs and get back to my weight of 40 years ago. The good news is I'm half way there and feeling great. Some day in the future I'll dig into the ice cream again, until then I'll try not to get triggered by the ice cream posts. Fresh strawberries are really good however.

Humph - it didn't work that way for me. (Happy for you, though symmetry). For some reason I gained when getting off beer. I was expecting it to melt off me, but I found an appetite.

The question is how much ice-cream? I am glad you brought this topic up. Say for example a friend of mine ate 7 ice-creams on Sunday but no ice creams the rest of the week, would this friend put on more weight by eating them at one sitting or stretching it out over the week?

Congrats on the weight loss.

If I ate 7 icecreams in one sitting I wouldn't have to worry about gaining weight. I would have thrown it up.

It's funny, I never liked sweets when I was a drunk. Now that I don't drink that's totally changed.

And I'd rather eat ice cream.

would you say one ice cream per day is too much ? Thats what I have been doing and feel guilty , everyone says that your sweet tooth goes away after a while but mine isn't.

I'm a fan of the ice cream diet.

Specifically, I'm a fan of the frozen Snickers ice cream bar diet.

I've got the same problem. It's kinda frustrating but at least I'm sober. I suppose I'd rather gain a few pounds and be happy and sober than lose a few and be drunk and miserable again.

Yes, at least one ice cream a day. Dairy Queen, ice cream sandwich, coffee flavored malt, strawberry shortcake thingie, choco taco, the ice cream truck, snickers ice cream bar. I live a block away from a Dairy Queen. My fave is the cone dipped in crunch/sprinkles. Other than eating ice cream, my sweet tooth did go away as well as my ability to eat fried foods.

(I love all things Leonard Cohen. His documentary "I'm Your Man" is pretty cool)
