Day Three :)

Hello everyone! Today is day three of not drinking and I feel pretty good - no major withdrawal symptoms to speak of other than I feel a bit amped up and have some extra energy. Figured I'd post here just to get some extra support before I start the day. I'm taking it one day at a time - I CAN do this!!

We can both do this. I'm on day four but it's about attempt fifteen since April so I probably was not coming at it from as tough a place as you. My body is already weaning off--it's my head that needs to come along.

I hope your Sober Sunday is lovely. I plan to have a very easy, lazy, self-indulgent day myself. Take care. Be sober later.

Thanks Josh! I'm glad I don't have any major withdrawal symptoms. I was drinking about two bottles of wine per day religiously for the past year or so. Before that, I was drinking one bottle of wine per day for a few years, so I was sure I'd experience some sort of withdrawal. I used to drink beer only, but I was putting on weight, so I switched to wine in order to help with weight loss. I lost the weight, but couldn't handle the wine. I starting needing more and more to achieve the same buzz and my actions were getting more and more out of control. That scares the hell out of me, so I figure I need to stop NOW! Thanks again!

Move! Walk. Drink coffee. Watch movies. Don't think.

Funny how we can recommend for others what we fail to do ourselves.

I feel okay today. Hubby just slipped in to tell me when a movie we want to see plays this afternoon. There's a plan.

WTG FHB1 on day 3,

The one thing I was told in early recovery was to focus on my sobriety and all other things in life would be possible. So true...

Stick around, keep reading and posting...

Had a very active day at the beach and am now home safe and sober. There were a few white knuckle moments, especially when my wife and I ate lunch at a cafe that happened to serve wine and beer, but I made it! I almost didn't, but I did!
