Question Revocation lifted this 22nd possibly??

hey y'all

So from the ramifications of my 2nd DUI last June I had my DL revoked, BUT the MVD says I am eligible to reinstate it this month on the 22nd. I am SOOO ready to drive. I live in the boon-docks and it's hard to get around to the store/work/and such without a car, but thats another story...

Anyhoo... I don't have a car because I had to repo the new honda because I couldn't keep up with the payment's and my fines.

So my mom says she'll give me her old hoopdi, sweet, I'll take it.

MVD wants me to be seen by a MD, or a PSYC to make sure I'm capable of operating a vehicle, I have to get an SR-22, proof of interlock device on my vehicle, plus the year that i didn't have my license must have been clean with no moving violations (thank got it is, I did drive a little, not gonna lie), before they will give me my license.

Dang!! That sucks!!

Anyone else have to jump thru so many hoops to get there license back?

Now I know why they say driving is a privilege not a right...

thanks for the comments please

Oh and If you live in AZ I could TOTALLY use and personal experience

Thanks!

I guess it's just nice to let people know you're moving on and up!

This is true of many things in life that we just take for granted. Freedom is another one, I know people who have spent time in a jail cell for a DUI.

I do live in AZ but I'm still pending trial on my 1st DUI and death of a guardrail. The accident happened in Sept. 09! So far, I haven't lost my driving privileges. I'll keep you updated.

I am glad to hear that you are being reinstated. Just take the responsibility seriously.

I live in Arizona. I never had a DUI myself but a year ago I was riding my bicycle about 6:00 am one morning and was hit from behind by a 65 mph drunk who fled the scene. I was riding in an eight foot bike lane. The Pima County Sheriff ran him down and he is now a resident of the AZ State penitentiary for the next five years. My physical recovery is still in progress; I'm not sure I will ever get over the emotional trauma.

One consequence of this event is that I now have no sympathy, whatsoever, for anyone who gets caught DUI. I do understand how it can happen but, again, no sympathy. Sorry if that sounds harsh but I now understand quite clearly what it is like to be on the receiving end of a drunk driver; I am lucky to be alive. For me, the more hoops for reinstatement the better.

Nothing worse than a reformed drunk like me, eh?
