This may not apply to everyone, but it certainly applied to me...

I've had insomnia, anxiety and thus depression issues for as long as I could remember. Just by accident, I happened to find out that the zopiclone I take for sleep has a short half-life and that it was causing interdose withdrawals...something I had never heard of. I though most of the meds were the same, different types of benzos. Apparently if you are on a shorter acting benzo, the affects wear off and you're craving your next dose. This isn't something that many doctors recognize, they add more medicine to your cocktail (That's what happened to me).

I started taking part of my zopiclone during the day, and BOOM, in one day I was actually feeling better. I didn't increase my use, I took from my night medicine. I've been stable about a week now. Once I hit 2 weeks, I will be crossing over into Valium to begin a taper.

I know that some people need their meds to function, and perhaps you just need to switch to a longer acting med.
