I remember how important it was to me to feel that I too could win over addiction. Members gave me a priceless gift...hope......

Then they took the time to explain how they were living in the solution and assisted me in doing the same.
That is why I remain an active AA member ..

I agree. It's important to give them the same hope that was given to me. NA literature also talks about how we greet each other like survivors of a great catastrophy.

If we don't welcome new people with some passion (strong feelings/emotion) and obvious sincerity they may not feel as welcome as if we DID. The importance is so they feel welcome enough to keep coming back.
