Day 2

Hello Everyone,

So I'm on day 2 with no alcohol. I am currently away from home which is making this harder than I thought. I live in Utah but have been in my hometown in Oregon for the past month, house sitting for a friend who is out of the country.

The only people I know in this tiny town are family..who drink like I do. I am headed back to Utah on Monday. I have a fiance there and soon to be step-son..I keep telling myself that maybe I should wait to quit drinking until I get home..but I know that is just an excuse and a bunch of crap..

I'm glad this forum is here. I have been alternating between reading, going running and coming on here to fill up my time..Thank You all for being here and the encouragement..Drinking is not an option today

well done Cee. The first week is the most tormenting in my experience.

Keep yourself busy- the part of you that wants to drink will try every trick to convince you it is a good idea to drink and that you are over-reacting to your problems

I also just cancelled a trip I had planned with my sisters(who also like to drink)I called and explained that I want to quit drinking and would not be able to make our annual vacation(which revolves around partying)..I figure why wait?..Now only if I could stop my brain from going a million miles an hour

Good job on being sober day 2 CeeFarro

Knowing drinking was no longer an option for me, became the reality that I don't drink no matter what.

Your brain will slow down and it will get easier.

Good for you for deciding to live a sober life.
