The thought of going to sleep > WITHOUT alcohol

Even though I'm over 2 months sober, I still get VERY edgy from 7 to 10 pm each night...KNOWING that it was precisely during this window of time, that I drank to knock myself out.

What to do, what to do?

HELP, please!

Any advice?

Kelly

Have you tried herbal supplements? I know that melatonin also is a good sleep aid that is non prescription. Valarian root as well if I remember correctly. You might google herbal supplements for sleep and see if that will give you some ideas. I used them for a while in early sobriety and they did help.

Also if you drink caffiene I recommend that you don't do it after noon or try to not drink caffiene at all. Herbal teas are good to help you relax at night but read the label as some are caffinated which will not help.

You can also try yoga or meditation which will help you relax.

All of the above I have tried at different times in my sobriety and each has helped to some degree for sleep. Take care.

Herbal tea, hot baths, reading sobriety books, exercising vigorously, not drinking caffeine. Melatonin. Microwave popcorn.

Took me a while after getting sober to get decent sleep, but now, 18 months later, I sleep like a baby.
