a lesson in what it means tobe SOBER
World English Dictionary
sober
— adj
1. not drunk
2. not given to excessive indulgence in drink or any other activity
3. sedate and rational: a sober attitude to a problem
4. (of colours) plain and dull or subdued
5. free from exaggeration or speculation: he told us the sober truth
Today I received news on multiple fronts that could signify big changes in my life. I over-reacted,was making knee jerk decisions, and suddenly realized I was spinning out of control. EPIC MELTDOWN IMMANENT
Thankfully I have been working a program of recovery for some time, and I know how and when to get quiet.
What came in the quiet was first the fact that I had an extra cup of extra dark coffee this morning, and I was high as a kite on caffeine.
Now I am going to hit a meeting, have some lunch and stay in faith, and wait for the darn crash

I really like the "sedate and rational" part of the sober definition...hadn't seen that before, thanks!
On a related side note I once had a terrible week when I had high octane green tea that gave me palpitations and shakes...even though I wouldn't give up my coffee for the world, caffeine really is quite powerful and, like any drug, must be used wisely.
Take care and hope everything works out for you!

Any outcome of change is determined by our attitude. Try to stay positive, stay focused and stay on your path.
I had some odd things going on but because I stayed on track, positive and released them -they are not boulders in my path. I never overlook a rock in my path...it could be a stepping stone or a mere obstacle I can kick to the side.

Your attitude, not your aptitude, will determine your altitude
