Page 8: Sober and Lobotomy Breakfast

We got up at, get this, 7:30 and got to our wonderful biscuits and gravy place BEFORE EVERYONE ELSE. It was so fun. I can't do that anymore, cause, well, it's biscuits and gravy, but we usually get there (on Sundays when I can leave the house ) at 11:00 or so. So instead of our usual lobotomy breakfast then watch TV, we...

hiked around the lake--which was really nice. A bit challenging and slippery, but we made it out with all four ankles intact.

Back home by 10:00. Amazing.

Happy Sober Sunday.

Your post makes me smile (and wishing I could have some biscuits and gravy - yum!)! Congratulations on 1+ week - that's truly awesome!

The mornings really are one of the best things about sobriety, waking up and not having to assess how bad I feel, wondering if I'd be able to get through the day. There's a kind of quiet joy, too, when you begin to notice the sun and sky and the things around you again.

I'm so pleased for you - great post!:ghug3

NICE.

I attacked the garden planting. Many many many things were planted and much much anxiety was worked out by sheer brute physical labor.

Why no more biscuits and gravy?

I think that biscuits and gravy are heavenly comfort food....(and maybe too heavy/fattening to eat consistently)????

Yep. Biscuits and Gravy are just too fattening. I've given myself license to eat what I want while quitting drinking, and I am going to have to stop that.
