Day 24 - rehab for Kelly
Quite the drunkalogue story (i.e. speaker meeting) at the open meeting last night - I think I'm starting to get more out of the Closed discussion meetings.
There's one tonight, back home, and since I'm going home for the weekend, I'll go to it.
Just packed my stuff, ready to go after last class, some time around 3:30 to 3:45.
They want us to do 90 meetings in 90 days after we leave Homewood.
I'm taking my large cane home today, I shall just leave the smaller one here, for the next 2 weeks.
I'll be back at Homewood by 7 pm Sunday, for the open 7:30 meeting.
Lots of Homewood literature to read, as well.

Hi Kelly.....from your posts, is sounds like you are
really looking forward to going home for 3 days.
Is your family anxious to see you? Do they have
plans for your homecoming? How about pets. Do
you have a furry friend at home waiting for you?
You mentioned about ur cane. I used one several
years ago when I had hip replacement to help me
get around when I was able to walk. Does your
cane help you get around easier ? Of course I dont
know ur situation personally, but I was thinking
of pain issues while in recovery and how we would
deal with them.
While you are learning to live life without alcohol, there
will be other addictions lurking to replace the drink as
many have done. Alieviating pain whether it is mental,
physical, emotional, sleep disorders and others will
crop up and learning the healthy way to take care of
them will be important just as not drinking.
Just some things to keep in mind while you are enjoying
the comforts of your own home for a few days.
As you have been logging on here in SR for support
while in rehab, we will be here for you while at home.
Whether u feel squirrely, confused, irratated, hungry,
lonely, or just have that strong urge to want to drink
or numb pain, use ur knowledge and tools u have been
learning about to guide you along.
Good luck and most of all relax and enjoy our awesome,
wonderful world outside and be grateful.
Another AA friend in recovery wishing you well.
