Hello, I am new here and trying to learn all the rules and understand exactly what to do so bare with me. I live in Texas and am trying to get off pain meds. It's going to be tough, I have a very rare disease that causes a lot of pain but I hate having to take the pain meds even if I do have a "good day" and not have any pain. I am going to do this myself. I can't miss work - rehab is not an option because I can't be away from home or work so I hope I can do this. To be honest, I don't think I can because the pain really hurts lol - and the withdrawals scare me more than the pain! If I can't do it, I hope I can still hang out on here and try.
That's all....thank you!
oh and PS I talk a lot and have opinions about everything - but I am really nice haha

Hi again lawismary
Have you spoken to your Dr about this, and discussed alternative pain meds or treatments?
I don't believe anyone should have to should have to live in pain, or live addicted.
It's not like those are your only two options.

Well the docs say I need to continue the meds because the pain is putting a strain on my heart...I have muscle damage already - and they said that although pain meds may be a "monkey my back" the alternative is worse. I just hate the fact that even though I am in pain a lot - if I have one day of not - I still have to take it. That is why I have decided to just get myself off all together.
