It seems to happen like this every two or three months. I have one of those nights or in some cases one of those benders that makes me say it's time to stop. A few years ago I went to a treatment program and it was pretty good, I was sober for a while but then I convinced myself I was ok to start drinking moderately...after all I had this thing licked!

A few days ago my girlfriend went out of town and I figured I had earned a night out with the boys. That night turned into three or four days and nights along with a pile of drugs and even some escorts. I feel horrible about what I did to my wonderful girl and just as bad about what I did to myself.

Sober I would never act like this...

You can't change the past, Rusty. You did what you did and you're feeling what you're feeling.
I don't know if you're going to tell your girlfriend or not. That's not for me to say. But if you were with escorts and participated in any sexual contact, please go get tested before you risk her health. I don't care if you say "it was protected sex" because really, how can you be sure? You were on a bender and the lines get blurred. Do the right thing by your wonderful girl and get check out.

Welcome. I know that guilty feeling all too well. You really need to forgive yourself to be of use to anyone else. Each day is a fresh start.

I totally agree....your behavior has put both of you at risk.

Also ask your doctor about how best to de tox and stay sober.
Obviously drugging and drinking are dangerous to you and others.

Hi Rusty

All of us have done dumb, out of character things. You're in good company here. What's done is done. The best thing to do is to ensure stuff like that can never happen again

I do agree with Silly tho - the responsible thing to do is go and get checked out - and while you're there ask the Dr about withdrawal etc
