So, after 6 months of no contact, I spent the day with my exabf yesterday.

And it was great. We both have focused on ourselves during this time, and are taking this relationship one day at a time. I love the life I have made for myself, alone, and have no intention of changing that. But I love him, and he is doing great, and we had a wonderful time...talking and eating, and playing with our dogs. It was lovely.

I look forward to more good times ahead, but I know now that no matter what happens, I will be ok. And that is a great place to be. I am grateful.

Hi, I'm happy for you that you're getting somer relief from all this.
Take it slow, take all of it with a grain of salt until actions speak louder than their words.
I'm 6 months out from my ex as well and him and I have started to email more often. He's working his 12 steps religiously. We are not getting back together, but the friendly exhanged has been calming to me and I think to him as well.
We don't get personal, but we are trying to be nice to each other. Something we were not for a long time.
