sorry, I have another thread were folks were giving me great support, but I would really like to just find some place I could go tonight to safely detox. I think I could just go to st pauls hospital or VGH and they might do it but i am an employee of both hospitals, actually all hospitals in vancouver, and would rather not. I am sure they have rules about confidentiality and I would be fine but I know people would know if I went, and I would rather not have that happen. I have googled detox centers in vancouver but can't find something I could just get a cab to tonight. You can pm me the info if you can find something, even if you are not from vancouver and just google it...maybe I am just to messed up to find one. I just need some help. thanks

ah **** I guess if I am going to do it I will have to go into st pauls...I want to and I don't...I wish I had someone to just hold my hand and take me...but I guess by binge drinking by myself I have eliminated that from my life. I am just going to keep posting, cuz I have nothing else to do...is this how kurt cobain felt I wonder? I wonder how much he might have reached out for help and didn't get it. don't get me wrong, I am not saying anyone on this board is not trying to help, you are actually all incredibly helpful, I am just sitting here in my beer can strewn apartment wondering if he did try for help and people just didn't get it. god...I am making no sense now...but I do love that this site is here to post on, even though not many people are probably up at this time. will post back soon. If I could just go to sleep I think I would be fine...and I could do my usual tough guy detox all by myself...just not sure right now.

Thanks Laurie, pretty much what I found...It seems the ER's are what I would have to do, I'm just not sure if that is what I want to do right now. but thank you.

Hey man, I'm from B.C...the Sally Ann has a detox downtown 119 East Cordova....the Harbour Light
Don't know if you can just show up there though..
St Pauls might be a better option if you're really sick

really? that is pretty close...have you been there? what is it like? is going to a detox just like going in and laying down and they monitor you for any problems etc? can I just walk in tonight and stay until I feel I can go home or do they want you to stay a certain amount of time? thanks dude, so much.

Give them a call. There is another one simply called Vancouver Detox also:

Give them a call though, I don't know if you can just show up.
Ive never been to detox myself, but last summer I checked myself into emergency when I was detoxing.

Don't hesitate to go to the hospital if you need to.
