Hi! New here!
Just thought I'd introduce myself real quick. I'm Laura, mom to three kids (4 including husband!) and I am on my SEVENTH day of no drinking! I had been drinking a 1/5th of 100 proof vodka every 3-4 days for the last three years. I've been pretty much neglecting my family for the past year, fallen into a depression, stopped doing things that I used to do, and basically lost myself.
I'm still feeling some pretty strong anxiety, some sleep disturbances and pretty strong fatigue, but it's definitely getting better. Looking forward to getting to know you all!

ETA: I guess I should say that I've also been on Klonopin and Xanax (alternating) for the past four years. Those will be gone as well. I'm still taking .5mg Xanax per day to help with the alcohol withdrawals. Once I'm out (in 6 days!), I'm out.

Hi LauraD! So glad you joined. I have been taking Lexapro for 2 1/2 years for anxiety and panic attacks. I am excited to see what quitting the drinking will do to balancing my body and mind. I hope to be off of Lexapro as soon as I can be. Ironic that I continued to drown myself in wine while taking a drug that specifically directs me not to mix with alcohol. This disease is an ugly beast. You are doing great (better than me!). Keep it up!
