Day 31 here
Day 31 here
Hello to all the wonderful SR folks out there,
I have not posted much, but just wanted to let everyone know that I am still here. I have made it to day 31 Things are really starting to come together.
I have tried to live my life somewhat normal over the past month. I went to a few concerts, sporting events, and even went to a bar to watch the final world series game with friends. I make sure to avoid events where drinking is the focus, because I can always find something I would rather do. Most of my drinking buddies have no idea that I quit drinking. If they offer to buy me a drink, etc I have just said "No thanks, not tonight" and that has been the end of the conversation. I have realized that all of the things that I used to do while using are a lot better sober.
Last night while having during dinner with my roommate drinking came up, or maybe I should say not drinking. She asked how long since my last drink. I mentioned that it has been 30 days. She told me that she need to try to quit for a while. I just smiled and said "Do what works for you"
It is amazing how much I really do love my life when sober.
I would like to thank all of you for being here. I would not have made it this far without the combined wisdom and guidance of SR.

Thanks everyone!
It really helps to put myself out there and get responses from others. I know that I will have good and bad days. It is great for me to communicate with people who understand my problems.
