Hey Friends
Hey Friends
This will be day one of sobriety for me. I'm 30 years old. Started drinking around the age 15 and started smoking marijuana fairly regularly about 8 years ago. I will abuse just about anything that I can get my hands on honesly ie-pain killers or adderall (I don't have regular acess to these things but when I come across them I will buy some and use them very quickly). That being said, I have never had any legal problems or anything of that nature, but this substance abuse has changed me for the worse(suprise). I sometimes go 2 or 3 days without using anything, but that's fairly rare. I don't consider any one substance to be the key issue...rather the behaviour that draws towards using SOMETHING is the issue. So I know I have to quit everything.
Any thoughts, questions, or words of wisdom are more than welcome.

Congratulations on day 1! It's really great that you recognize the addictive part of you. I did all kinds of assorted substances before I became a regular drinker.
I can only say that I'm so glad to be sober (and clean) today, mainly because I finally figured out that we're really not meant to escape from life, but to figure out how to be the best we can be.
What seems fun at the time can become a focus in our lives and eventually turn into a huge problem.
All the best - glad you're here!
