Arrow Big Book Quote

*~*~*~*~*^ Big Book Quote ^*~*~*~*~*

"Let no alcoholic say he cannot recover unless he has his family
back. This just isn't so. In some cases the wife will never come
back for one reason or another. Remind the prospect that his
recovery is not dependent upon people. It is dependent upon his
relationship with God. We have seen men get well whose families have
not returned at all. We have seen others slip when the family came
back too soon."

When i had a drink id talk about stopping all day long..
When i didnt have a drink.......well that was a whole different ball game.

I had this fantasy mental list of reasons why stopping drinking was difficult and the things that needed to happen to make it easier.

if i had my daughter back in my life.
if i had my career back on track.
if my wife would get off my case.....and move back in.
if i could find a way to appease the bank.
if AA wasnt like a morgue.
if my mother would get that bible out of my face.

All nonsense........much of this was achievable but id move the goal posts constantly.......typical alkie......all about me and only me.

i know what i need to be dependant on to stay sober and its none of the above...
