Picked up my Green Chip today
Well, I made it to 90 days today and picked up my chip, from my sponsor this morning. As an added gift for my birthday, she told her story this morning. Thursdays are speaker days, and since my sponsor has to get to work, she often does not come on Thursdays so as to not walk out on someone telling his or her story. But today, she spoke. She said she changed how she told her story a bit for me. It has been a very emotional morning, and it isn't even 8:30.
I am so grateful to AA. There are not even words to express my gratitude to the program and to God for giving me the gift of sobriety. I am 41 and have been drinking since I was 14. I do not think there has ever been a time in my life I have gone 90 days without a drink.
God bless you all. May you find peace and serenity today.

yeah, 24, I think I had my run of drinking. I mean, really? It took me until I was 41 to say "wait a minute, alcohol might not be such a good ide?" Nope, had to wait until it kicked my behind. Thank God I am still alive and have not caused too much damage out there. . .
Thanks all!
Thanks all!
Congrats, aehmnm!!!
I'm so proud of you, and lemme tell ya, you're a heck of a lot further along in the program than I am at two years. And I'd be willing to bet your first two years will be happier and more productive than mine were.
LOL, no sobriety envy, though--I'm workin' on catching up with you!
Big hugs, thanks for all your wonderful shares,

My 90-day chip was green, too--the one I got from one group. In my one of my other groups, the 90-day chip was yellow (that group used poker chips with an AA decal in the middle). (The guy who gives out the chips refers to that one as the "urine chip"--as in, "yer in the right place.")
The manufactured aluminum ones are green.
