The old adage, "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure," is just as true in the spiritual life as it is in the material world. A treat many people wait to make their contact with God until a serious difficulty is upon them and then they hasten to find a spiritual solution. Of course, it is better to seek God under such circumstances than never to find Him at all. But why wait for trouble? Many a difficulty could be prevented or lightened if we were to make our contact with God now.
The Bible says now is the day of salvation. Now is the accepted time.
If you will put your life in God's hands now through daily prayer and meditation and complete willingness to do His will, you will find that your problems will grow less as time goes on, and you will have acquired that serenity and poise that only God can give. Then, come what may, nothing shall disturb you.
And now, Lord, what wait I for? my hope is in thee (Psalm 39:7)
