Day 81 and doing good
Day 81 and doing good
Hi everybody, I haven't posted in a while but I'm proud of my progress and just wanted to check in. My last beer was April 18 and that was supposed to be my last day to smoke weed too, but I slipped on May 18 while spending time with a pot head friend of mine. So, no drink since April 18, but smoked on May 18.
I guess 81 days isn't much to brag about, but it feels like it to me because I was so bad for so long. I'm depressed a lot and watch too much TV and sleep too much. I'm looking for a job but it's not going good but I keep trying.
Since I quit drinking and smoking, I've lost 45 pounds, so that's good. Now I'm 20 pounds overweight, which I'm working on losing.
Anyway, thanks for listening.......

Good job, Robin!
Wow, I gained 20 pounds in my first 23 months sober, and I've yet to take them off. Of course, I was drinking instead of eating when I quit drinking, and I'm not eating the healthiest diet.
Keep on keepin' on!

Well done my friend, all those day at a time add up, I started drinking copious amount of cola since i got sober i'm up 14lbs in 19 months lol, but at least we know we can do something about it lol .
81 days is awesome! And you quit two things, too! You should be very proud of yourself. I've watched a lot of TV since getting sober, too, but slowly things are starting to enter my life again: a few old friends, some hobbies, and hopefully getting back to exercise! Wish the pounds had dropped when I quit drinking, but I seem to be holding steady at my (undesirable) weight.
Good job and thanks for the post.
Good job and thanks for the post.
81 days sounds like an incredible achievement from my vantage point of 35 days. Give yourself a mighty pat on the back from me.
These kinds of posts are a real source of inspiration.

Congrats on the 81 days Robin! That is awesome.
I had found the first couple of days going through the dreaded detox that all I did was stay inside the house (only because I was sick as a dog). But on the third day I went out (since I had obligations with appts) and really felt better getting fresh air and a few miles on the bike.
When you feel depressed, get up, put your shoes on and go for a walk. The exercise and fresh air will help put you into a better mood.
Sitting around the house alone can lead to depression unless you have some special projects going on. But I can certainly relate to what you're going through on the job front as well. Keep at it my friend! There's someone out there who needs your qualities.
