red face

hey everyone, i'm new here but from what i've read so far, i feel privileged to be here. I'm 26 years old and have been trying to quit drinking for the past few months and have failed. The longest i have been is 2 weeks. I just have a question...my face has become really red- blotches on my cheeks and forehead. And i feel really hot. I have heard of excess alcohol causing this. Does anyone know what this is? Thank u

Yes...a lot of drinkers get that...my ears got red and warm.
It stopped when I quit drinking....

You can check with your doctor ...thats a good idea
anyway ...to assist you with sobriety.

Welcome to our recovery community...

Welcome wildesun

Never had that...or maybe I didn't notice

Like Carol said tho, many members post about it, and it seem it usually goes away with the cessation of drinking

Yep...I got that too. When I was on some real benders It showed big time. I also would get a few weird acne spots. I don't know what they were...not a zit...I don't know how to explain. They all went away when I stopped drinking. Even didn't come back when I had my recent 3 day bender.

Taking pepcid AC helped with the redness for my old friend. Not drinking would be a better solution .

I had that all the time. Dr. said it was rosecea (sp?) and I had a cream for it. Not that it helped. Now 7 days sober my skin has cleared up nicely.

I remember as a kid seeing a WC Fields movie and he rosecea and I always remembered my mom saying he was an alcoholic. Don't know why that stuck with me all those years.

Wildesun, I had the red blotches on my cheeks, red ears and red nose. I also had a small blood spot on my right cheek that looked like it could start bleeding at any time.
3-1/2 weeks sober and my face looks normal again. The little spot even went away.
I have heard them called liver spots also. Imagine that LOL
