Hi all,

Just wanted to say that I have now gone to two meetings in two days. Got a 24hr chip tonight and everyone shook my hand...it was actually quite emotional. Great group of people, lots of them my age (beginners meeting tonight) and wow, how much do our stories sound the same!! My only regret was not finding the courage to go before this. Anyone considering going but afraid of being typecast, ostracized, or whatever....please just go to one. I already feel like I have met long lost siblings, and look forward to the next one.

Thanks,

Traid.

Congrats Traid. Sounds like your off to a good start. Isn't it a great feeling to finally find a place where you belong?

AA meetings are simply a group of people helping each other to stay sober. To me, it's a no brainer to be with folks who are just like me, trying to do the same thing I am, which is to stay sober.

I'm glad you've found the fellowship. I'm almost 6 months sober, mostly thanks to AA.

Exactly what I found when I started going to meetings myself traid!

I know I would either be back drinking, or be very unhappily sober and constantly on the verge of drinking without AA. It's a life saver.
