Hey, no car shouting this week

For the past 5 years, every morning I woke up was going to be a sober day for me. I would be hungover, but telling myself tonight would be different. I would not drink tonight. I would often lecture myself in my car on my way to work. I would even give myself a good ass-chewing, shouting loudly at myself in my car, "You're a big dumbass! You have a family that loves you and you're pssing it all away! Get your sh!t together you big, dumb F*ck! Stop the f*cking bullsh!t drinking, you a$$hole!" etc. Sometimes all the way to work.

It just occurred to me that I haven't done that all week.

Although this morning I had contemplated not going to a meeting today. Then after work I hopped in my car and reflexively tried to recollect which liquor store on the route home was up in the rotation. Then I paused and smiled and said out loud, "Well, I guess you're going to a meeting!"

I can identify with your insanity. I’m glad you’re sober today.

Spooky how quickly you can out-fox yourself, isn't it? Glad God sent ya a reminder....and more glad you acted upon it!!

Keep it up. You're on the right path.

I did the quit-every-morning thing too.

When I think of the money I wasted throwing out beer and booze in the morning and buying it back in the afternoon......lol.
