Pink all around me
Am watching the tv special as young 16 year old Jessica Watson sails into Sydney, after 200 days sailing her yacht "pink Lady" around the world....ON HER OWN.
After nearly being run over by a couple of teenage morons on skateboards this morning, this reminds me that there are beautiful, passionate and go get young ones who truly are the spirit of youth.
Funny isn't it? Jess is too young to drive a car, but can sail a boat in places that scare sailors at the best of times.

What a sight, hundreds of sea craft of all shapes and sizes, and thousands of people from those at the Opera House, to along cliffs all round the harbour. In the middle of all this mayhem, is a tiny pink yacht and a slim young woman who had this dream and has achieved it.
She wasn't even fazed to land, and find the Premier of NSW and the Aussie Prime Minister has waited over 4 hours longer than planned, to greet her.
Refused to accept she was a hero, just an ordinary girl with a dream, who worked to make it come true, and she told us all that we could do whatever we wanted, if we worked at it.
Hooray, for a real role model instead of beanpole models, drugged up entertainers or sportsfolk who think kicking or hitting a ball, or punching the heck out of someone means they are wonderful.
Thank you all who supported Jess and her dream.

Y'know, Jadmack, I needed this. The past day or so I've been feeling all kinds of things related to an upcoming family gathering, and feelings about my breakup. Seeing that grinning, vibrant 16 year old fulfilling her dream has given me a much needed kick in the a** this morning! Thank you.
