Near Beer?

Near Beer?
Just wondering if trying to drink near beer is a good idea or it will just perpetuate my alcoholish? My friends Dad is a recovering alcoholic and he drank near beer for a long time after he got sober and now he doesn't even drink that and he's been sober for many, many years. So I guess it worked for him but I was wondering if anyone on SR has any thoughts or experience with near beer. Thanx, Flip

It's one of those topics that keeps coming up Flip.
I don't drink it - it never stopped me drinking in the old days when I tried to use it as a moderating tool....and as a problem beer drinker for years, I think it'd be pretty foolish of me now to drink something that looks, tastes and smells like beer.
I reckon I'd be appeasing my addiction myself.
There are far better drinks out there for the non drinker IMO

Yeah I agree with Dee, booze and drugs are no longer the issue for me but in early days I drank tea coffee water and soft drinks and kept well away from booze or any remonders
