why?

How is it that kids have no respect or concerderision when you do alot for them, first car, pay some for their University only to get bashed...What does their Father get the glory I got to be a drunk and a tocker when I met him...great choice in men.....;-0 quit that crap when I had kids.

From the kid that I helped read below..the one that thinks I am a rotten Mother....do I tell her or not? Should I show her that I am on this chat or just go to see the physiologist and talk to her later.......? Yet my new hubby is very concerned that I am on this chat...but he hates it when I drink...what the heck do I do...? Not sure where I am:c004

Maybe it's time to consider changing your approach.... If everything you've done hasn't worked, more of the same effort will likely get you more of the same results.

And for what it's worth, my dad paid for my college, bought me two cars, made a lot of money and was more than happy to spend it on my brother and I............. what we really wanted was a non-alcoholic father who loved us unconditionally and wasn't plagued by a physical, mental and spiritual malady that made living with him virtually unbearable.

Set aside the kids and husband for a moment and ask yourself:

Am i an alcoholic?
Do i want to stop drinking and find a better way to live?

If the answers are yes, then seek help beyond this forum. There is a solution that's readily available to anyone who desires to work for it.

Then worry about telling the husband and kid. And remember your Shakespeare...

"This above all: to thine own self be true,
And it must follow, as the night the day,
Thou canst not then be false to any man."

Alcoholic drinking causes fear, anxiety and confusion, all of which make it impossible to deal with whatever problems you may have. If you are an alcoholic, you have to start by desling with the drinking problem. Until you do, you can't even see what your other problems - some of which are likely to be the result of drinking - are.

Hi Nikita

Welcome - I absolutely agree with others that you need to focus on yourself, rather than what your kids think, for now.

Hope you keep posting and tell us more about whats going on with you
