Day 14...Almost settled into my new routine

Who am i kidding, i don't have a routine. All that goes threw my head is don't drink, don't drink, don't drink. I doubt this will last if I don't get myself into a serious routine. I know i will fall back into the old one of drinking everyday if i don't...
So for today, I'm putting on my TO DO list to create a TO DO list...
Im gonna have to read up on Rev's Procrastination thread to help me from procrastinating the routine I create...

Song of the Day...God's gonna cut you down By Johnny Cash

Way to go on your sober time.....

I think your idea of beginning
a positive routine is wise.

My recovery required a change in lifestyle too.

Dude, I'm making a TO DO list as we speak (type). Rev's procrastination page has helped me out too. I made it to day 2!! Feeling irritable and not really wanting to talk to anyone. The only thing I say to myself is Don't drink as well. Will this ever stop. What a crappy way to live the rest of my life. Telling myself, no, no, don't buy the beer. Don't drink it. I hear it gets better. I can only hope. Great song of the day!! You have inspired me to listen to my ipod on shuffle in the morning until I get a song for my day as well. I already posted the lyrics so you know what it is. Pet--apc. It was technically found yesterday, but I extended it into today.

Cheers (lol) to two weeks bro!!

PS:

My TO DO LIST:
1) Clean out bedside book shelf (didn't do that last night)
2) Clean out closet (probably won't be until this weekend)
3) Fix bass -- pretty sure she just needs a new 9-volt. Been REALLY neglecting her though, and she needs some TLC
4) Pay bills -- Should be done shortly
5) Mow lawn (could push this back to Friday)
6) Wash car -- (Saturday with the girls)
7) Wash wife's car (see above)
8) Go to Target, wife has the list for that one
9) Tell wife I'm going to an AA meeting tonight -- *GULP* Hope I can cross this one off tonight
10) Make a new list when done with this one

Almost forgot
11) DON'T DRINK!!

later

Good Stuff Oddman...It does get a little easier (after a few months), Im waiting patiently for that to happen...again (i quit a few years back for 4 months). Good idea with the Ipod, I've turned to music a lot lately and it really helps...
If you didn't add Get Rid of the Empties, add that to your list. It felt great to get rid of the wall of empties that accumulated over time.

Get that bass going again. I always loved the Tool baselines (especially Schism). I fell off playing the guitar for years because i was too busy drinking, now i cant put it down...

It DOES get better and a bit easier with time. I've got five months Saturday and the thought of drinking rarely comes into my mind lately. And the few times it does it evokes an automatic "yuck" response, so it's good my body and mind seem to be happy sober.

Good for you for changing your routine to include sobriety as a priority. :ghug3
