5 Months!
Just wanted to check in to say that I can't believe it's been five whole months since that fateful day (June 22) that I decided to change my life forever!
I've pretty much gone it alone, although I've had a little bit of support from family and friends and A LOT of support from all of you here at SR. I don't know where I'd be today if I hadn't stumbled upon this site at the end of July.
I check here just about every day and it really helps me stay the sober course.
I was a heavy beer drinker for most of my adult life and I never thought I could get and stay sober for any length of time. I'm living proof that you're never too old to change for the better. I can't put into words how great it feels to be free of the bonds of alcohol. I'm truly blessed and feel that I've been given a new lease on life. What's happened to me is nothing short of a miracle. God bless all of you for helping me along the way.
For all of you still battling this demon, don't EVER give up. I've said it before and I'll say it again...if I can beat this thing, ANYBODY can!
