Year
I passed 1 year on October 13th, 2009.
I actually did not even think about it until yesterday when I was at my treatment center and we were talking about how our last month has been since our last meeting. One of the others mentioned that it was their 6 month date and I got to thinking about mine and......wow, it did not even cross my mind that it had been 1 whole year. I think that in and of itself is a good sign that alcohol is in my past and not even in my thought process anymore.
What I have found is what works for me. Everyone's recovery efforts are different and whatever works...works.
The benefits have been the gift in return.
Greater tolerance, love, the beauty of life and it's surroundings, return of health-both physically and mentally, a new connectedness to life, the people around me and nature have all come full circle. I have been blessed.
My strength and goodwill to all of you as we fight the good fight.
