Exclamation Morning after calculator - so you think you are sober enough to drive a car?

Found this tonight, scary but factual stuff.

The morning after calculator

All in metric measurements and UK brands, but I am sure you US guys can compare.

The more aware I am, the more informed I am, helps me.

I can't just cast a spell and end the drinking. But the more I unearth, the more I have to support my thoughts and the more I have to support my own personal case.

Why can't you "just stop"? You will need support, possibly medical detox and desire, but alcoholics "just stop" every day. I "just stopped" 126 daze ago. You can get if you really want it but you must try, try, try as the Regae man said. More power to you. I'm so glad I don't need to worry about a morning after meter. By the way, does it measure your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being? Does it measure who you've let down, or hurt, or used, or lied to--including yourself? Now that would be an instrument.

There is no spell, it's not magic. Just stop drinking. The first step in quitting is not drinking. Go to a doctor and ask for help. You can do it but you have to want to.

Seek and you shall find. Could it be that, that missing piece of the puzzle can be found?
Deep, yea, I know. Just keep reading and posting. Your on a quest and u will come to know that your life is so unmanagable. I understand, was in your shoes, (female here btw) and I was using all the defence mechanism's to deal and losing a piece of me everyday.
Stay strong.

I'm glad you're informing yourself, Ben - informed decisions are the best.

Don't mistake research for action tho. Everybody's right here Ben.

I know it sounds impossible but the first step to getting sober is not drinking...there's all kinds of action you can do - find a new doctor, visit an addictions counsellor, check out rehabs, check out recovery programmes...whatever you think you need....and most importantly don't buy beer today, avoid places where alcohol is served...don't drink today

Research isn't action.. thank you Dee, that was awesome

imso.. it takes no magic, you can just stop. A lot of us did. It's a choice.

I hope you make a healthier one soon, and not knowing any details, from the post above, I also ask you not to drink and drive. If you want to destroy your own life, that's on you.. dont take anyone with you please.

I am glad you are here & still working on getting sober but as Dee mentioned research isn't action.

We tend to make this "sobriety" thing as complicated & twisted as possible while we are still drinking. End of the day its actually pretty simple to do in the end = Don't pick up that first drink.

Its not easy... its one of the toughest things I have ever done but it is worth it. If you put the same amount of effort into not drinking that you do into your drinking, hangovers, cover ups & research you would be well on your way to sobriety & a new healthy life.

I wish you all of the best on your path, may find sobriety along with peace, happiness & love.

Take Care,

N B
