Hi! Please don't be nervous and I'm glad to see you here. This site has been a really big help for me. The people here give great advice on almost everything I've ever posted. Trust me on that. Anyway, if you haven't already, the sticky notes are a great read and if you'd like, there are plenty of good threads already started.
Great to see you!
Great to see you!
Welcome to Sober Recovery... SR
We all have to start crawling before
we walk. We are like infants when
we stop drinking or using. As a child
we have someone carry us until we
become strong enough to stand on
our own 2 feet.
I began infantcy when i had my first
full day without alcohol back in August
11, 1990.
Family did an intervention on me to
get me help when i wasnt able to help
myself.
I spent my first 28 days sober in rehab
recieving the tools and knowledge of
my disease of alcoholism.
From their i was set on the path of
recovery learning to live without
alcohol one day at a time. Going
to meetings and listening and ab-
sorbing all that i needed to hear
from the many that have stayed
clean and sober before me.
All the things i heard, members
sharing their own ESH, experiences,
strengths and hopes of what it
was life before during and after
drugs or alcohol, allowed me to
realize that I wasnt alone and that
their stories were similar to my
own.
When u begin to share ur story with
us here in SR, you will be surprsed
at how many understand it. Once u
know this then u will begin to feel
more at ease and eager to let others
graciously help u on ur own road
of recovery.
So feel free to share a little bite of
why u r here so others can begin
to help u with suggestions and
guidance.
