Beautiful Day
Hi, gang!
Well, it's actually a little overcast here with some scattered t-storms in the forecast, but beautiful for other reasons. The kids are with the grandparents for the week!!!! Perfect timing too, as the wife and I have made a commitment to really communicate with each other during our little break. We had a couple of very bad conversations last week where it appeared that we were on completely different wavelengths, but on Friday we each wrote each other a note that told both of us that we are in fact in this together.
A couple of milestones were reached yesterday I'd like to share with the world. First and most fun, we made love sober for the first time I can remember. Wow! (On second thought, maybe I won't share all of that with the world, you never know where those pictures could end up! I ask you to use your imagination, folks;> -) All right, this might not be so bad afterall. Is drunken, crazy sex overrated? Too early to tell but the first returns are encouraging.
Second, in the note that she wrote me she acknowledged some of the hurt and pain that she has caused to the entire family over the past few years. Magically, that's all I needed to hear. One acknowledgment, one time only, and I am ready to move on. Resentment turns into poison inside a person, and I have no interest in poisoning myself, so as far as that's concerned that chapter in our lives is OVER. As best as I can, that is not to be thought of or brought up again. Today is day 1 of post-resentment, and it feels better than I can describe.
Well, I gotta go, we are going to a meeting together then taking our bikes down to the lakefront for a nice long ride. Hope everyone has the best day they possibly can, I know I will.
Peace
