Possibly Good News

As some of you know my AS is in jail awaiting rehab placement or some other form of program/consequence. I spoke with the PO in charge today and she said that the YDC rehab rejected him because of the diabetes. Its good news/bad news - this is where we thought he would def be acccepted and were a bit shocked but i was concerned because this facility is more like jail and i was afraid he would become instituionalized being there - not to mention because it is YDC run the criminal element he'll live with could just make him worse. If they had accepted him then they wouldnt have looked at any other places.

The good part of it is that since he was rejected there, they are now working on him being approved to a Boy's Ranch. Its on 40 acres in the middle of no where about three hours away. They have a really good program - its not solely a rehab but they do drug addiction counseling along with other things to help troubled youth, have a GED program and teach trades. They even have a followup SL home if the kids reach 18 there. If he could get into this facility I really think it would make a huge difference and could be a much better place then the YDC rehab. Its all a matter of funding now - they are working with the state to see if they will provide the funding for him to go there. If they approve the funding then they'll expidite his case and possibly get him in sooner than we had thought. I'm just praying now that he does get into something like this.

I ask everyone to pray that he ends up in the best place for him.

Winnie,
Good things will come. You have been thru so much, and so many prayers have been said for you. It's nice to know someone is listening. This sounds perfect. What an opportunity. The boys ranch has an excellent turn out statistic. He will find it difficult as they all have to work together. Getting back to basics, really. It will be interesting to hear of his time there.
Good luck!:ghug3

Winnie,

That would be awesome. OOOO I will be praying tonight! That would be so great for both of you, you would have peace of mind and I really think something like a ranch your son would like.

Anvilhead, if you go.........I am going along just to keep an eye on you. LOL

(((Winnie)))

Oh, this sounds like it would be SOOOO much better than the YDC thing!!! Lots and lots of prayers coming from me!!!

Don't worry about ((Anvil)) preying on the youngun's - she wouldn't last a day in this GA heat with her hot flashes, unless they have a freezer in the middle of nowhere

Hugs and prayers!

Amy
