Pay it forward peeps!
Pay it forward peeps!
This morning I was in the drive through of a coffee shop gettin' coffee'd up. I got to the window and the lady said that the person in front of me paid for my java. How awesome was that?! I've never had that. So fellow users and abusers past current and future. Pay it forward and make someone smile tomorrow or whenever. I know I will. Peace. Ken
Awwww, that was very thoughtful of that person in front of you.
One time my hubby and I stopped a McDonald's and picked up some breakfast sandwiches...on the way back home, there was this guy sitting on the side of the rode. So we stopped and asked him if he wanted a sandwich, he was in shock...that made us feel so good, we went home packed a little duffel bag with gloves, a small radio, thermas, batteries, water, unbrella...etc. Then we took it back up to him...he didn't know what to think, but it made our day.
Sometimes we try to do little things, it might not be much...but we try.
Thanks for sharing your story...It brought a smile to my face and touched my heart.
XOXO

Oh yea,
I think that maybe it's time for another pay it forward from my hubby and I.
Even though we're unemployed at the moment...I feel pretty good on how things are going for us so far, we always manage to make it through no matter how bad it gets.
I think I will take a few items this Saturday to the post office for the hunger drive.
Thanks again for reminding me to do this sort of thing for someone else

Last week my vet called me to ask if I wanted a donated bottle of insulin for my dog. One of their clients had to put their dog to sleep and donated his last bottle of insulin. I gave my vet's office a sympathy card, in a stamped envelope and asked them to address it and mail it to them. Their kindness is so appreciated.
I had that same experience at the drive thru the other day. The person in front of me had paid for my order! I shall do the same the next time I'm there. It really started my day off happily.
No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted!

Two of the greatest feelings are giving and receiving. I'm blessed on both sides. I have always been a giver (kind of been a problem though, LOL!) but it is so nice to be on the receiving end, even if it's just someone telling me "You're doing such a great job, so proud of you." Keeps me smiling for hours.

Many times people would stop and do an about turn go to the sandwich bar and drop a sandwich in my lap.
Im going through a period of depression at the moment.......ive been here before many times so i know it wont last.........
BUT your post lifted me today....
God bless you...................trucker.
That is TOO funny. Someone paid for my ice cream last night. I dunno who it was, but was there something going on that we're missing? I don't make much money, but I can afford to buy someone a small cup of coffee. Not starshmucks, but maybe Tim Hortons or something.. I'll do that after I cash my check tomorrow. Or maybe, I'll just front for someone's ice cream. LOL.
Thanks for sharing this Ken!
I do..and it always come back...in ways I never expect and the blessing is so much
more. The joy, though..is in the giving! If you want a real rush..and a thrill..start
doing this. Doing for others fills you up inside.
And trucker..my gosh..thank you.

What you saw was a great example of the 12th step where "we practice these principles in all our affairs." Can you imagine if each of did a kind thing for a complete stranger tomorrow? What do you say that we try it?
Well, I cleaned out my cabinets and gathered up a few items, but it just didn't look like enough...so I stopped at the store and picked up some boxed/canned goods to fill the rest of the box. Then I went to the post office to drop the box off for the "stamp out hunger" drive that they were having.
I felt that since I mentioned it in here a few days ago that I needed to hold true to my word. It felt really good to do something for others...who knows, maybe one day I just might need that box of food.
KenL thanks again for starting this thread...paying it forward made my day.
God Bless and Hugs,

That is a great idea!
I saw someone do this last week, there was a funny little man, a little out there if you could say, a bit intoxicated, dressed all up in sparkly sequenins and green underwear, he made me and my friend laugh, (in a nice way, we talked to him) made others mad, really mad, and the people in front of us paid for his candy bar, he was so grateful, and I remember thinking how that whole incident made my day. I will def. make sure to do something like this soon, actually tomorrow.
thanks for the reminder.

what coffee shop where, and ... what did the generous person look like? I want to get in on this lol
seriously though, it was a wonderful lovely thing to do.
Maybe I should really consider doing that as I live in a poor third world country!

I made an extra effort in giving in some areas..I won't tell what tho'..my "other Big
Book" says I shouldn't let my left know what my right is doing..lol..
Well.. yesterday my doctor said she is keeping me on as a patient. I was to be
transferred to a clinic as I cannot get State medical coverage. And she gave me enough
meds for two months. About 700 dollars worth. There is something to this.
She said "We always seem to get the samples in when you have an appointment..
it is first come, first served." The strange thing? My regular appointment is on
Monday..I went in yesterday because I was ill. Coincidence? Don't think so.
When I gave..I was not thinking of getting anything. It was out of compassion.
And it felt reaaaal good. But I was not shocked when I got a blessing back, worth
so much more than what I gave.
Give, give, and give again. Peeps out there are in need. Not just money..I know.
That coffee the person gets behind you..free, might be a catalyst that changes
the course of their day...wow. What a thought!
And Welcome Padoink!

Some years ago.....in the U.S. there was a social movement
"Random Acts of Kindness"
The deal was to do a daily unexpected kind
action for a stranger. It was not necessarily
about money....but could be.
Perhaps it's coming back....I sure hope so.
Thanks Ken for sharing
