12 Step Workbooks

There seem to be a variety of different 12 step workbooks, worksheets, or downloads available. What have some of you found to be very effective or informational?

I've got a blue book that says Alcoholics Anonymous on the cover. Inside you will learn that to show other alcoholics PRECISELY how we have recovered is the main purpose of the book.

It worked for me very well, the directions are clear cut.

i've used the directions in the big book, the 12x12 and from other sources as well. I find that actually the big book format works best for me to start with and then i look at other material as suplemental...i've been able to delve deeper into understanding that way.

if you are supplementing the big book then maybe just get yourself a workbook that seems to focus on an area that you have particular trouble with.

it's always nice if you can work through something like that with others. I occationally meet with other women working the steps again and using different formats. I find it very helpful.

I don't really have a specific recomendation though

I have read and continue to reread the Big Book of alcoholics anonymous. I believe my question was in regards to other material that has been beneficial to others as they work the steps. There are plenty of different texts available, and my question is in regards to which ones others have found useful. I do not believe I need to limit myself to one book when there are plenty more tools available for me to use. There are workbooks available to accompany many religious texts, would you suggest that they should be ignored as well. I appreciate your response, but I really would like to hear from others who would like to offer an answer to my question.

I don't work a 12 step program, so I can't offer help, I just wanted to wish you luck, and i hope you find what you're looking for!

I used (still use) the NA Step Working Guide because it asks me questions and I have to answer honestly.

Very insightful.

I worked the steps out of the Big Book with a mentor aka sponsor that I admired and respected.

Along with the Big Book and 12&12 I found sober.org a useful site with writing for each step.
