Books for Kids?

Hi, I know it was discussed long ago, and could not find it in the stickies. If anyone can recall some books that help children that have an alcoholic parent or family member.

You might try starting with this list: Children's books about alcoholism and drug abuse

I know this is an old thread. But I found a good book yesterday while cleaning out a messy cabinet in a corner of a preschool classroom.

Here is the book, but there is contact info on the back cover to order and there are more in the series. The book I found was in its 2nd printing 1997, so I don't know how good the address below is. A brief Google search on "Kidsrights" did not seem to turn up anything pertaining to this particular group.

KIDSRIGHTS, 10100 Park Cedar Drive, Charlotte NC 28210
Phone: 1-800-892-KIDS FAX:704-541-0113

HERE it is on another site.

When I was growing up both my biological father and mother were A's. They just didn't live together anymore. My mom got me the book. My Dad Loves Me, My Dad has a Disease by Claudia Black.

I haven't actually read through them yet, but have been looking for the following (for young children):

The Brown Bottle by Penny Jones
An Elephant in the Living Room - the Children's Book by Jill M. Hastings & Marion H. Typpo

I was hoping to find them at a local retailer, but may have to break down and settle for going through a big-box or Amazon.com
