I can't say I do your drugs, but I can say I understand your pain. What pain? ADDICTION. I am like you. I abuse alchol. You do your thing.

Nevertheless, it needs to end.......How? Well, meetings. I've been to AA deals here and there, and it has been cool.

I hope you the best.

Welcome to SR.
There is plenty of support here.
You have done well to get to where you are.
If you really want to quit completely take the next step and confirm to yourself that you are better off clean.
You can do it if you really want to.
Good luck.

Thanks - addicted

Thanks for youre responses.I am very grateful i found this web site last night. This is awesome being able to talk to people who totally understand. Its hard leading my life without any support since nobody knows that is around me what is going on with me.
I have gone to meeting before to support a friend and it did not seem the thing for me .Since i live in a very small community and there were people there that knew me thru my job i am afraid to go now because i cant let it get out in the community that i have a problem.I cannot loose my job because that is one of the only things keeping going and of coarse my son.
I tried again this morning to not use but had a smoke because i feel so damn uncomfortable and weak.
I am hoping i can ween myself off, but not sure if i can do it without help.
This chat room is the most solid thing i have found to deal with things.
Thank you all.

That's one of the many bad things about addiction. It is SO isolating. I know I felt like I was leading a double life and I felt like a complete fraud.

It would be best if you talk to your dr. And, I think withdrawing from anything (for me, it was alcohol) is going to be uncomfortable. But, I was so miserable in my life that it mnade the choice easier.

There is lots of support here, so keep reading and posting.
