I take a greenfoods "hair, skin, and nails" blend. The brand escapes me at the moment. They taste and smell awful, but I really notice the difference when I take them. When I was early in recovery I took a B-complex vitamin, since drinking depletes vitamin B stores in the body.

I have a daily supplement habit.
I take a multivitamin. Usually whatever one is on sale that has a complete set of vitamins and minerals that I need.
I take a small aspirin for heart heath. I am a male so don't know about this for females.
I take garlic pills for cholesterol.
I take Omega 3-6-9 for heart health.
I take glucosamine and condroitin for mild arthritis. This may have cleared up but I will take it until the bottle is empty.

and
I take splenda for sugar withdrawl.

I take the following Vitamins~

1-Healthy Weight Advanced Vitamins (Walgreen brand, instead of One A Day, much cheaper!)
2-Chromium Picolinate-It's a nutritional supplement that works to increase the efficiency of insulin to optimal levels.
3-Super B Complex with Iron
4-Stemulite Fitness Formula- Allows my muscles to recover more quickly after a workout (Welcome to Stemulite Direct)

I can tell the difference when I do and don't take my vitamins. I take them every morning with a huge glass of water =) I've also heard and read alot about the Acai berry and yes it's supposed to be very good for you. I'm sure you could get it in pill form or I'm pretty sure that Naked Juice has an Acai drink =)

Prenatal multi (for when I need them.. they're great preggo or not!)
B complex
Fiber supplements (flushes the body.. and counteracts side effects from that darn Iron in the multi!)
I try to get MOST of my vitamins from my food, as that's the best way, they really are "supplements" after all, and I'm a big nerd and freak out a bit that none of the are FDA approved anyways. Just to supplement a healthy vitamin rich diet.

I don't take a multi because the protein mix I use has pretty much everything. I do take some supplements for anxiety/focus issues: L-Theanine, 5-HTP, and GABA.

I just picked up some Iron suppliments
and B-12 vitamines.

Starting out young, eating right,
exercising and and getting the
proper amts. of vitamines for
a healthy body and mind will
benifit you in the long run.

Helps with cholestrol and high
blood pressure, cancers that
run in the family, aches and
pains as u get older.

At 50 now im in pretty good
health as ive always been
inspired by those that lift
weights and work out.

Men's health and Muscle and
Fitness Magazines have been
good reading and inspiration
for a long time now.

At this time Im having pains
in my left leg and dont know if
its due to a vitamine difficency.

Women go thru different female
changes in their bodies at different
stages of life.....Menapause is
where im at ....

I have gone to the doctor already
for an evaluation. Did the blood test
this morning and Monday coming
Ill have an ultrasound done on that
leg.....

I could be experiencing RLS...restless
leg syndrome....or poor circulation
in my veins.....that could also affect
my heart in the long run.....

So im hoping with all ive done to
take care of my body till now that
the results wont be devistating.

It could be something that runs
in the family.

Waiting for results.

Oh I think I got most people here beat in the daily vitamin consumption. Mind you though the amounts I take I just recently started doing almost 2 weeks ago after reading about alcohol abuse and the recovery it needs. So in a lot of cases I take double amounts at least for another few weeks till I go back down to normal. So without further ado:

Morning:
Multi
B-Complex
C Vitamin
E Vitamin
Zinc
Calcium
Fish Oil

Mid day:
Iron
Fish Oil

Evening:
B-Complex
C Vitamin
Zinc
Fish Oil

Along with that my diet has me eating fruits and vegtables with every meal, at least when possible. I go through them pretty quick and can't always keep them in stock. And one meal out of the day I make what I call a monster salad which has almost a whole days worth of vegies in it. And i do my powerlifing training 3 times a week and try to get a full nights sleep.

Since then I have noticed a decress in anxiety and depression. And I have just a better overall upbeat attitude and good energy levels. I personaly believe it's changes like this in our lives that makes not only the road to recovery a more bearable one but a happier long life of sobriety as well.

Good topic!

I started taking Vitiman B when I stopped drinking because I had some DTs & read up on it that people who have DTs most likely have a Vitiman B deficency. I do try to do reg vitimans too.
