My thoughts on Step One
Looking HONESTLY at myself, my addiction, and my consequences was when i TRULY worked step one. Half measures avail me nothing....this applies to the steps, traditions, and anything we put effort in to our lives. I had a hard time realizing i was sick like them "other" people at the meetings....lol. To be honest if i could drink just one and not have any consequences....I WOULD, but i cant just drink one and i know my life would get ugly really fast. Today i accept I have a progressive, chronic, and fatal disease that is just waiting for me to pick back up. Today i apply the tools of this program and im sober another day...and for that i am truly grateful.
