Please keep a friend in your prayers...
There is a lady who rides to AA with me, and she's such a sweetheart. She has over a year clean and sober.
Her fiance is a truck driver and last night the police showed up at her door to tell her he had rolled his semi and was killed.
I don't think it's completely hit her yet, and I felt so helpless talking to her on the phone today when she called. I did tell her I will help her with anything that I can, and to hang strong to her program.
She's had a long haul, has Hepatitis C which did not respond to treatment and was given only 5 years to live. I'm so proud of her for staying sober.
My heart is breaking for her!

My friend has been surrounded by loving people in the program. She did ride along with me today to Walmart (35 miles) to pick up my old dog's heart meds. She said she was so glad to get out of the apartment.
She talked about a lot of memories and cried during the ride. I'm just glad she is talking about the pain and working her way through it.
One of my sponsees stopped by yesterday with food, and some candy in case her blood sugar gets low (she's also diabetic, and so is my sponsee). One of our AA members is driving her all the way to Colorado on Friday for the viewing, and then will attend the funeral with her on Saturday (he's being buried where his brother lives).
Her first disability payment comes in on the 11th of this month, and I told her I would help her with a budget. She is also a little slow mentally, and her fiance always took care of the finances.
With God's grace and continuing support from her friends in recovery, I am confident she will come through this still sober and realizing she has a lot of people who love her.
Thank you for all your prayers.
