Wow, it's going up quite a bit. It is a great time to be sober and not drinking. I noticed the price on my jack daniels went up from $22 a 5th to $25. I'll end up saving a whole lot of money not drinking. Heck we'll all save a lot of money staying sober. Thank goodness for that with all these prices going up.

Dang, from your post title I thought you were going to tell us that you'd found cure for alcoholism and that we could all go back to drinking again! Ha Ha. That's not funny. Sorry.

I guess I'll take my solace where I can find it and enjoy the fact that everyone else is spening money that I'm saving...

My wine of choice went from $10.99 to $16.99....Woohoo! My goal is to save up enough to take my son to Disney Land next winter. Anyone else putting their alcohol money in a jar or a savings account for a specific goal or dream?

That's a great idea backporchpet! What a fantastic way to spend the savings! Is anybody else noticing they are saving on peripheral expenses too? For me, alcohol was quite expensive, but so was the McDonald's, the impulse buys, the internet purchases and the breakfast's at Ihop. I was easily spending $100-$200 a weekend. Thanks for the post Vicious! It really is a great time to be sober!

Ok, DoJohn........beer is now $5.50 a can!!

Mle-sober---I will work on that new kind of wine! lol

Backporch---I did that savings thing when I quit cigs over 9 years ago......to this day, $25 a week goes into an acct.....I call this my smoking money. I like when I am sitting on an airplane going somewhere, I say to myself..."I would have smoked this." I put up a fence at my house, same comment.........etc.....heck I know someone who bought a brand new Harley from money he would have smoked away......it is definitely an incentive!!! Great thought to do it with drinking too.

Tax Return some going to bills, some going towards my wedding and my new tattoo and none going to drinking. Feels really good to say that.

I made it through my first weekend without wine in about a decade! I used it to help me get to sleep, but last night I was asleep fairly fast, and slept all the way through to the alarm. When drinking wine, I alway woke up in the middle of the night.

I only had 3 nights of night sweats and crazy dreams, last night was peaceful. I had headaches Sat. and Sun. afternoon and seemed a bit tired, even though I slept plenty. I'm tired right now too. Unfortunately, I don't feel any better in the morning when I get out of bed, but I'm not a morning person and I wasn't drinking enough wine to be hungover. But I've saved about $20 already!

I normally only drink one cup of coffee in the morning, but I'm already on my third. Anyone know of a group to help get off the coffe??? OK, one addiction at a time.

I went to Dallas this weekend and spent just over $40, including tickets to the show I went to.

I can't believe how much less I spend now!!

It is a very large bonus to sobriety

Yes backporchpoet,

This is my new thing too.
I am trying to pay off debt.
just dumped out all the wine, after what happened to my mom,
and now my husband and I are both saving that money.
its a great idea to do something positive like save the $, or the trip you mentioned.
