I'm going back to school!!!!

I am so excited. I went and signed up for fall classes and I just can't wait! I'm going to take Graphic Design and Web Design. I am totally thrilled that I could actually have a life besides here at the house everyday! I start on the 6th and its not coming fast enough! I have been through so much lately and I just need some space for me....just me! My husband thinks that its great that I'm doing this but my parents are saying things like...."Well, what kind of job are you gonna get taking that?" or "That doesn't sound very practical, Holly!" Well, I contacted an online firm today and once I finish and design my portfolio she will hire me if I'm good and guess what? I'M GONNA BE GOOD AT THIS! I'll get to stay at home and work and make good $$$$$$!

Just thought I'd share the excitement!

2many, that is awesome!

And as for your parents - poo poo for them! My dad wanted me to major in engineering when I went to college, so I did. After a year I realized I didn't like it, so I switched to computer science. He was soooo pissed and said that I would never be able to find a job!!! What?!?!? Hello!!!!! Well, that only made me want to prove him wrong and I have. I graduated, found a great job, and haven't looked back!

Web and graphic design is an awesome field. My hubby has worked in the field, and he's always found plenty of work. Good for you and good luck in school!

Hugs,
JG

What a familiar story! My father is a Civil Engineer and that is what he wanted me to do. Well, that didn't appeal to me. Computers have always been my thing and I went and took a personality/ interest test at the college and guess what careers it picked for me....Editor, psychologist, and GRAPHIC DESIGNER! Whoa! I guess I wasn't too far off at picking what I should do! I think your career should be something that you enjoy doing. My folks are hmmm.......how should I say this? Ummm...old fashioned! Very conservative and do not like to travel out of the norm. Me? I'm an artist and sorry but you just can't make a good living drawing portraits of people. So, this is art...just a different form.

Hugs,
