A "sign" on a tough day?
A "sign" on a tough day?
Some of you may know I've been struggling the past few days. Had a really poor attitude, been angry, sad, confused, etc. Anyway, we were supposed to have some friends over tonight. These are people we previously drank with and who do not know I've quit drinking, so I was a bit anxious about how the night would go. I went to the grocery today and stocked up on ingredients for "mocktails" so I too could stand there with a drink in my hand.
They were supposed to show up around 9:30. 9:45... 10:00... 10:15... nothing. We finally get an email from the male saying, "Sorry, xxx threw up in the car on the way to your house." (She had been at someone else's house first and had apparently been doing shots.)
Here I've been stressed and anxious all afternoon and evening about NOT DRINKING, and they wind up not being able to come over because she puked in the car - drunk! I almost laughed when I found out, just out of ironic relief.
I'll take this as a sign that I need to get over myself and my bad attitude and be grateful.

Better puking in her car than your house.
Isn't it great not to have to worry about where you're going to puke?!
FWIW, I don't think you need to 'get over yourself'. The journey of sobriety can be a tough one. You're okay!

A) That's hilarious!
B) Someone out there is watching out for you. You sure didn't need the temptation of hanging out with drunk, ex-drinking buddies when your stressed.
Take it as big sign!
